Registered Nurse (RN) - Newborn Nursery

With 320 beds and a team of more than 500 physicians representing
over 35 specialties, we offer a range of inpatient and outpatient
services.

What you will do in this role:
Performs complete head to toe newborn assessment with plan of care
in a family centered setting.
Medication administration with understanding of side effects for
newborn population.
Thermoregulation:.Recognizes acceptable infant temperature
ranges.
Infection control for newborns.
Demonstrates proficiency with computerized documentation.
Lactation support for breastfeeding mothers in accordance with
policy.
Safely and efficiently perform role of Admission Nurse.
Provides family centered education based on family needs.
Accepts responsibility for unit charge nurse as assigned.
Demonstrates knowledge of developmental care of newborn.
Demonstrates knowledge of normal lab values of the neonate and
recognizes and reports abnormalities of neonate and mother. Follow
protocols for GBBS, glucose protocols.
Qualifications What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Newborn Nursery experience preferred.
Registered with the State of Texas.
NRP within first twelve months of employment.
Basic Life Support is required.
