Company: BCFS HHS - Community Services Division Position: Facilitator II

Program: BCFS HHS - RGV-Protects (RGV-P)

Reports to: Program Director

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Pay Grade: 7AH - Facilitator II

Education: Bachelor's Degree in social services field such as Sociology, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Law, Criminal Justice, or Human Services OR 5 years' experience to substitute education.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience with youth (Middle-High School Age). Must have basic assessment skills and the ability to work as part of a team. The Facilitator must be knowledgeable in all areas of training curriculum, crisis management, and curriculum development. Experience in group facilitation, and public speaking is important.

Supervises: None

Summary: The facilitator is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population especially in crisis situations while maintaining compliance with established program standards

Essential Functions:

Complete initial intake assessments on all new clients.

Assists clients in increasing knowledge and learning program and curriculum material.

Work with area schools and other partners to provide violence prevention and outreach to youth.

Provide a year-long, 24-session violence prevention course for 7th-grade students, beginning in the 2021-2022 school year and continuing for as long as funding allows. Provide "hot topic" outreach presentations for high school students. Measure performance and outcomes before and after each session and each school year. Meet with families who are interested in or have questions about the curriculum. Prepares presentations, training, and facilitates to groups that promote programs within the community. Turns in receipts, expense reports, sign-in sheets, and other required documentation for budget and billing in a timely manner. Must meet all contract deliverables as outlined in the contract. Participates in Planning Team meetings. Maintains files; organizes and files paperwork and documentation. Inputs all required data into a computer database. Creates media such as fliers and brochures for the program. Designs and implementation program changes, curriculum development to improve training services. Receives approval for all purchases from Program Director. Reviews all program records to ensure proper documentation as per contract requirements and guidelines. Attends all-staff, team, and area Planning Team meetings as scheduled. Works as a team player Seeks community resources to enhance RGV-P program services. Presents at conferences and other professional meetings on the RGV-P program. Supports other transition services as needed. Complies with all policies/procedures of the agency. Other job duties as assigned.

Measurable Deliverables:

Student/client files are maintained according to all BCFS and RGV-P standards. Document all youth served in a fiscal year. Document required data into a computer database to demonstrate progress and success and program outcomes are tracked and achieved. Enter all required ETO data for all clients within 2 business days of client contact. Monthly reports are submitted to the Program Director to meet all contract requirements.

Credentials, Skills, and Abilities:

Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to:

  • First Aid o CPR o Emergency Behavior Intervention
  • Other

Pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug screens and always maintain emotional control and professional composure. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if the applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years) Demonstrate the ability to: Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Work in a fast-paced environment. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Travel as needed. Manage time effectively and efficiently. Bilingual required (Spanish)
