With 320beds and a team of more than 500 physicians representing over 35specialties, we offer a range of inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical,and specialty services, including:24-hour emergency roomLevel III Trauma CenterComprehensive cardiovascular care 30-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Rio Grande Regional Hospital is currently looking for a Registered Nurse - NICU (RN) PRN Whatyou will do in this role: Performs complete head to toe newborn assessment with plan of care in a family centered setting Medication administration with understanding of side effects for NICU/newborn population Thermoregulation:.Recognizes acceptable infant temperature ranges. Infection control for newborns Demonstrates proficiency with computerized documentation Lactation support for breastfeeding mothers in accordance with policy. Safely and efficiently perform role of Admission Nurse Provides family centered education based on family needs Accepts responsibility for unit charge nurse as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge of developmental care of newborn. Demonstrates knowledge of normal lab values of the neonate and recognizes and reports abnormalities of neonate and mother. Follow protocols for GBBS, glucose protocols. Demonstrates knowledge of phototherapy and Kernicterus as a never event. Qualifications What qualifications you will need:Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
