Job Description:
Responsible for the administration and control of the AS/400
systemThe duties listed below may not include all responsibilities
that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may
be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
- Installs and implements system patches
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, and provides resolution for any system
problems and provides ongoing system support for the system
bank-wide
- Handles setup, configuration, and troubleshooting with MIMIX HA
and BRMS backup recovery software
- Acts as a liaison between the Bank and vendors as needed
- Handles all system backup and recovery efforts
- Assists with contingency testing
- Participates in job specific and other bank training programs
- Maintains current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss
prevention, including reporting of suspicious or unusual customer
activity per Bank policy, and, if supervisor, ensures adherence by
the respective department personnel
- Maintains current knowledge and complies with all federal and
state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and
procedures, including internal audit controls related to department
operations, and, if supervisor, ensures adherence by the respective
department personnel
- Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws
as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML, and, if
supervisor, ensures adherence by the respective department
personnelQUALIFICATIONSThese specifications are general guidelines

- Self-starting individual who possesses a bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Up to five years working experience may be substituted for the
degree requirement
- At least three years hands on experience as an AS/400 System
Administrator is required
- Must possess thorough knowledge of AS/400 Security
Administration and backup and recovery principals using the
AS/400
- Must have prior experience with Power 6 HW or later and with a
multi-LPAR AS/400 environment
- Must possess thorough knowledge of MIMIX, HA, BRMS, PowerTech,
Performance Tuning, IBM Job Scheduler, IBM Operations
Navigator
- A basic understanding of network principals is required
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and
customer relation skills are necessary
- Problem solving and technical trouble-shooting skills as well
as decision-making abilities are essential
- Mental concentration is necessary for handling frequent
interruptions and working in a fast paced environment
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is desiredORGANIZATION
- This position reports to the Technical Support Manager
- This position does not oversee other positionsTRAINING
