Job Description:
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under limited direction, this position is responsible for managing
donor recruitment and other assigned staff to achieve annual and
monthly team goals through effectively leveraging and engaging
blood drive coordinators to maximize their donor recruitment
efforts with an emphasis on the acquisition of first-time blood
donors This position assists department leadership to achieve
recruitment objectives by developing market penetration plans,
planning recruitment strategies and increasing blood donations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and
external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of
management.
Assures quality customer service to all customers.
Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates performance and competency
of assigned personnel. Identifies and effectively resolves
personnel issues.
Develops special programs assuring alignment to national strategy
to respond to business and/or department needs.
Assists with development and implementation, territory alignment
development and goal setting. Assists in developing and monitoring
of the department budget. Leads and supports the effective
execution of national marketing, communications and donor
recruitment programs, initiatives, and strategy. Ensures adoption
by all team members of national strategies.
Monitors mobile resource allocation and adherence to scheduling
guidelines in partnership with the Planning & Scheduling team.
Supports the allocation of donor care staff to areas with greatest
opportunity for maximizing collections.
Manages departmental functional areas (e.g., special events and
public relations) as assigned.
Ensures assigned staff follow established sales/recruitment process
(including projection accuracy and operations at projection) and
maintain accurate and timely account information.
Supports the development of an annual recruitment plan for meeting
assigned collection goals. Prepares, assesses and responds to
monthly forecast information.
Develops programs to support the conversion of donors to automated
and other new collection technologies to optimize the donation
opportunity.
Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders
(particularly Planning & Scheduling and Donor Care) to maintain
joint goals and shared objectives. Develops and maintains effective
relationships with key customers.
Responsible for the reporting and resolution of deviations within
assigned department.
Communicates effectively to coordinate blood drives and supports
team members to maximize collections and achieve assigned goals.
Represents the organization through personal contacts, public
speaking engagements and educational presentations.
Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as
assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/ Education
Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience in
related field required.
Licenses/ Certifications
Valid in-state driver's license required.
Experience
Three years related experience required. To include:
Two years supervisory experience required.
Skills/Abilities
Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all
assigned duties and responsibilities.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must have proficient computer skills.
Ability to think strategically and independently.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
to provide consistent high levels of customer service.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to establish priorities and follow through on projects,
paying close attention to detail with minimal supervision.
Must have a participative management style, strong team
development, and coaching skills.
Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and
multiple priorities.
