Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: NRP, BLS, EFM Must-Have: RN Labor and Delivery experience Description: Collect data to inform patient care. Work in a Labor and Delivery unit with designated beds for laboring and antepartum patients. The unit comprises a team of registered nurses and surgical technologists. Core staff includes charge nurses and nursing assistants for both day and night shifts. Patient care ratios are 1:1 for labor and delivery final stage or C-section, and 1:4 for antepartum. Utilize equipment such as operating rooms, fetal heart monitors, and ultrasound machines. Electronic medical records are maintained using Meditech. Candidates must have experience in labor and delivery nursing, with preference given to those with a BSN. Typical procedures include assisting laboring patients and supporting surgeries for C-sections. The ideal candidate will be assertive yet friendly and possess strong critical thinking skills. Schedule may require rotating weekends and on-call duties. Unit policies and guidelines related to labor and delivery will apply.
