The Lead MA also serves as a role model by promoting communication, collaboration, teamwork, and accountability. The Lead MA provides guidance and instruction to all medical assistants within the department.Required Behaviors:

--- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program or minimum of three (3) years' work experience as a Medical Assistant
--- BLS Certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
--- Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Medical Assistant employed with SJRMC/SJHP
--- Exemplary communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
-Preferred Qualifications:--- Successful completion of Frontline Leadership Program or documented leadership and/or conflict resolution training or education--- Advanced computer skills
--- Proficient customer service skillsDuties and Responsibilities:--- Effectively collaborates with department leadership to develop/implement process improvement strategies
--- Establishes strong working relationships with providers while facilitating excellent patient care
--- Consistently exceeds customer service expectations and communicates effectively
--- Establishes status as a super-user with strong data entry and computer abilities--- Demonstrates proficiency when performing department-specific clinical skills--- Provides interdepartmental training and guidance while acting as a -resource for all staff
--- Performs accurately and quickly in a busy, stressful environment, setting priorities as to duties--- Provides guidance to other medical assistants to ensure appropriate prioritization
--- Demonstrates proficiency in telephone triage to manage patient calls and provide appropriate intervention
--- Understands and follows policies and procedures
--- Builds productive interpersonal relationships in every encounter and demonstrates teamwork
--- Actively participates in the department and looks for opportunities to improve processes
--- Actively participates in the implementation of orientation and onboarding processes for new medical -assistants
--- Performs other duties as assigned

--- Stands, bends, squats, climbs, kneels, and twists routinely
--- Uses computer and keyboard for prolonged periods of time
--- Lifts greater than 50 pounds and pushes 0-300 pounds frequently
--- Works in high stress environments with constant interruptions
