The Lead Medical Assistant (MA) is an integral part of the patient
care team and acts as the liaison between the provider and the
patient to meet the medical needs of the patient. The Lead MA also
serves as a role model by promoting communication, collaboration,
teamwork, and accountability. The Lead MA provides guidance and
instruction to all medical assistants within the

mission.Required Qualifications:--- High school diploma or GED---
Medical Assistant Certification
--- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program or
minimum of three (3) years' work experience as a Medical
Assistant
--- BLS Certification (must be obtained within 6 months of
hire)
--- Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Medical Assistant
employed with SJRMC/SJHP
--- Exemplary communication, leadership, and conflict resolution
skills
-Preferred Qualifications:--- Successful completion of Frontline
Leadership Program or documented leadership and/or conflict
resolution training or education--- Advanced computer skills
--- Proficient customer service skillsDuties and
Responsibilities:--- Effectively collaborates with department
leadership to develop/implement process improvement strategies
--- Establishes strong working relationships with providers while
facilitating excellent patient care
--- Consistently exceeds customer service expectations and
communicates effectively
--- Establishes status as a super-user with strong data entry and
computer abilities--- Demonstrates proficiency when performing
department-specific clinical skills--- Provides interdepartmental
training and guidance while acting as a -resource for all staff
--- Performs accurately and quickly in a busy, stressful
environment, setting priorities as to duties--- Provides guidance
to other medical assistants to ensure appropriate
prioritization
--- Demonstrates proficiency in telephone triage to manage patient
calls and provide appropriate intervention
--- Understands and follows policies and procedures
--- Builds productive interpersonal relationships in every
encounter and demonstrates teamwork
--- Actively participates in the department and looks for
opportunities to improve processes
--- Actively participates in the implementation of orientation and
onboarding processes for new medical -assistants
--- Performs other duties as assigned

and Environmental Work Conditions:--- Accepts the risk of exposure
to job-related illness and injury which may cause long-term health
problems

--- Stands, bends, squats, climbs, kneels, and twists routinely
--- Uses computer and keyboard for prolonged periods of time
--- Lifts greater than 50 pounds and pushes 0-300 pounds
frequently
--- Works in high stress environments with constant
interruptions
--- Special Demands: Sets limits when dealing with angry, hostile,
or sometimes verbally or physically abusive patients and families
in an attempt to ensure a safe, respectful environment that will
