The -Occupational Therapist -is responsible for the assessment of
referred patients, ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric who
are experiencing medically complex conditions or medical surgical
conditions requiring rehabilitation and/or wound care needs. The
-Occupational Therapist -duties include: -
- Assumes responsibility in the care of the patient. - Performs
complete, comprehensive evaluation of patients . -
- Accurately interprets evaluation findings. -
- Completes a written plan of care, develops goals based on
evaluation findings, and develops a comprehensive program to attain
goals.
- Implements an occupational therapy treatment program and
provides basic occupational therapy treatments. -
- Demonstrates competency in performing basic occupational
therapy skills. - Supervises COTA's and Rehab Technicians with
regards to individual patient care treatments. -
- Assesses patients periodically to monitor progress towards
treatment goals, and alters goals, plan or program as indicated.

- Motivates and instructs patients/caregivers using appropriate
methods.
- Ensures safe care of patients while adhering to policies,
procedures and standards, within budgetary specifications. -
- Demonstrates good basic skills in time management, supply
management, productivity, and flexibility based on patient census
and accuracy of practice. -
- Provides treatment in all areas of the department, which may
include inpatient, outpatient, weekends and holidays.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by
meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, and skills
competency.
- Supports department-based goals which contribute to the success
of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to
less experienced staff. -
- Assists in clinic education efforts, whether to patients,
staff, hospital, system or the community
- Perform additional duties assigned. Qualifications Minimum
Qualifications:
- Ability to project a professional image
- Knowledge of regulatory standards, compliance requirements and
hospital policies and procedures
- Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards
of practice in job situations
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in
job functions. (order entry, data entry) Education and/or
Experience: -
- Graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy.

- At least six (6) months of experience directly related to
duties and responsibilities. - Certificates, Licenses,
Registrations: -
- Current license for Occupational Therapist in state of
employment. -
- Must maintain current Provider CPR certification throughout
