Job Description:
HCA Gulf Coast Division is seeking a Market Medical Director for
Forward Pathology Solutions, providing professional pathology
services to Rio Grande Regional Hospital and Valley Regional
Medical Center.
This is a high-level working leadership position working with the
administrators and physicians at assigned market region. The Market
Medical Director provides leadership and guidance for Division
initiatives within the Pathology group. The position includes
-30-40% Administrative and -60-70% Anatomic/Clinical sign out
responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Responsible for oversight of Rio Grande Valley region that consists
of two hospitals in the market
Manages the medical directors and associate pathologists in the
Gulf Coast Division to include: scheduling oversight, performance
monitoring, mentoring, coaching, recruitment and quality review
oversight
Facilitates achievement of annual quality and efficiency goals for
pathology services in the Division
Assesses test utilization patterns, performance improvement data,
quality control data, regulatory and accreditation standards,
process improvement and medical staff satisfaction
Professional oversight of clinical pathology processes and
procedures
Collaborate with laboratory administration to ensure compliance
with CAP guidelines
Qualified Candidates:
AP/CP Board Certification is required
Must have leadership experience at multiple Pathologist hospitals;
preferably overseeing multiple sites.
3-5 years of experience in a hospital-based Medical Director role
is required in a large or multi-hospital setting
5-8 years out of Fellowship
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience managing a large
group
